Scenes from the Side of the Road 3

I am always excited to find the hidden treasures that surround us here in New Hampshire.

This little discovery pulled at my patriotic side. A once proudly displayed American flag painted onto a farmers gate.

A piece of American folk art that is slowly fading away.

On another day, we stumbled across this tin roofed cabin.

With a closer eye, I spotted this whimsical object on the roof that brought a smile to my face. The addition of the 'Pink Flying Pig' only confirms my suspicions that this old place has a story to tell.

Finding new discoveries in our travels is always fun, but the privilege of witnessing one of God's creatures always brings me the greatest joy.

This beauty visits our property quite often and is always welcome. I know that this is a busy time of year for everyone, but I hope you are able to stop and enjoy the view.

  1. You are after my own heart finding treasures like these when traveling.
My favorite thing is to get lost on back roads. You never know what you will find.

  4. Was the Flag Gate south of Wolfeboro NH on Rte 28. I remember going by a farm with a gate like that on our way home from camping in Tuftonboro and we always called it "Flag Gate Farm" It has stayed in my mind over the years and I have always planned to do a folk art painting of it. I am so thrilled to see it again.
