Saturday Sparks Link Party 546

Welcome to Saturday Sparks 546!

Starting off today's party with a new addition in the living room!

Plant Stand at Pieced Pastimes

As I have shared, I like a more minimalist home style, but I seem to have an alter ego when it comes to plants.

It takes great restrain on my part to limit the amount of plants I drag home.

Every room has some sort of greenery.

And during our long, cold winters the crazy plant lady really takes hold.

It was during one of those weak moments, that I found myself ordering this plant stand.

And, to be honest, I have no shame in doing so.

"My green thumb only came as a result of the mistakes I made while learning to see things from the plant's point of view."

Saturday Sparks Link Party 545

Welcome to Saturday Sparks 545!

Starting off today's party with our first snow of the season and our defiant deer!

Deer in the Snowstorm at Pieced Pastimes

This storm left us with 18" of the white stuff and no power, but we are fully dressed and ready for Christmas.

I took this photo as the wind was starting to pick up and the snow was gaining ground.

The deer braved the cold for quite a while, before making a break for the woods.

I will continue to keep an eye out for them as winter settles in.

2022 Woodland Themed Minimalist Christmas Tour

After some hemming and hawing, I have finally finished my Christmas decorating!

The completed look speaks to my nature loving side.

We have been seeing the deer a lot lately and have been enjoying every minute of their visits.

Once the first heavy snow covers our fields, they will most likely leave us and venture into the woods for a different food source. As a matter of fact, it is snowing now as I type.

I will miss them, so I tried to capture a bit of their spirit in my decor.

I was able to find everything I needed from a few boxes of treasures that I have collected over the years.

My old school, make-do mentality loved that!

In no time, my 'Woodland Themed' Christmas was finished.

The deer may be leaving us for a while, but their essence will live on and in the meantime, I will enjoy the memories of their visits and the anticipation of their spring arrival.

Wishing all of you the blessings of Christmas, now and throughout the year.

Saturday Sparks Link Party 544

Welcome to Saturday Sparks 544!

Starting off today's party with my less is more Christmas Tree!

After much contemplation, my minimalist mindset won the battle for which tree, which room and which decorations.

I ended up going with this slim pencil tree placed in a vintage 5 gallon stoneware crock.

It sits in the corner of our eat-in kitchen and is decorated simply with lights, snowflakes and white doves.

The reflection of the lights along the wall makes me smile, as does the symbol of peace emulated with the white doves.

Saturday Sparks Link Party 543

Welcome to Saturday Sparks 543!

Starting off today's party with a little peak of my now completed Christmas decorating!

You may recall that I was off to a slow start with my decorating this year.

Luckily for me, I was inspired by all the festive posts that everyone has been sharing.

It gave me just the boost that I needed and for this, I am thankful.

Saturday Sparks Link Party 542

Welcome to Saturday Sparks 542!

Starting off today's party with a slow start to my Christmas decorating!

I usually go 'all in' with Christmas decorating the day after Thanksgiving.

Busy days find that the only thing I've done so far is to hang this wreath.

Thankfully, I have been moved by the many Christmas posts that have been shared lately.

And with that inspiration, I will be decking these halls in short order.
