Our home has underground wiring and due to the length, it required an electrical panel to be placed along the way. This was a thorn in darling hubbies side and he knew he had to come up with something to hide the panel. His ideas came to fruition with this 'new - old' building.
His plan was to make a structure that looked as if it's been here for many years, and I think he nailed it!
Weathered barn boards, rusted corrugated roofing and old windows were his materials of choice.
He built it beside his shop and then moved the completed building into position.
Careful planning helped to make for a perfect fit.
Rusty hardware was used for the door handle.
The electric panel is hidden within the walls, just as he intended.
Window boxes were filled with foraged plants.
This little building serves as a reminder that most, if not all challenges can be overcome with careful thought and consideration. The original desire to camouflage the electric box was achieved and we gained a sense of history along the way.
