Welcome to Saturday Sparks 385!
A lot of my meals have components from previous meals such as these bowls.
As much as I love to cook, there are days when I just don't have the time.
This is where batch cooking comes into play.
I take a day each week to prepare some basics that I can use throughout the week, things like sautéed veggies, rice, steamed potatoes and crispy tofu.
I will also make falafel, veggie burgers and meatless meatballs as they freeze beautifully.
The benefit of having these items ready to go is that I can throw together a healthy, delicious meal in minutes.
A little planning really makes all the difference.

And goodness, that zucchini cake is so good looking! I’ve got to jump over and get the recipe.

Happy to feature you RR! After seeing your post, I realize that I need to up my tablescape game. Glad to know that you are enjoying all the benefits of batch cooking - makes life so much easier. Happy Summer, Suzanne.
DeleteI love the idea of making things ahead. I am wondering what your secret is to keeping crispy tofu and falafels crispy. We are vegetarian and there are so many things, like those that I haven't made ahead because I did not think they would keep well. It would be wonderful to have meals made ahead of time!
ReplyDeleteHi Theresa - I reheat crispy tofu and falafels in the oven at 300° and that seems to work nicely. I have read that some people will spray them with a bit of oil first to help with the crispness, but I prefer no oil. Hope this helps, Suzanne.
DeleteThe food looks so yummy. Thanks for sharing it with us. Thanks for hosting and I hope that you have a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! All the best, Suzanne.
