Welcome to Saturday Sparks 591!
Starting off today's party with this hauntingly beautiful tombstone.
DH and I visit old cemeteries from time to time.
The hallowed ground is rich in history and deserving of our respect and attention.
We passed this very old, very well cared for graveyard recently and had to turn around to take a better look.
Sadly, the older cemeteries contain many graves of infants and children - mostly attributed to disease.
This particular tattered headstone captured my heart - a sweet angelic girl with a broken wing.
Yes, she was dirty and worn, but the detail of the carved stone was simply extraordinary.
No feature was forgotten, from the lace trim on her dress to her sweet, pudgy knees and bare-feet.
The craftsman that created her did so with much love and care, just as it should be.

My husband and. also stop at old graveyards and find them peaceful and beautiful with beautiful sculptures made with such care. Have a great week.

We're still enjoying some really nice fall weather, though forest fires have been an actual threat in some of our area this past week. Hopefully the rain we had yesterday will help abate those.

We had a little burst of snow the other morning - just 1/2" that was gone by the next day. Enjoy these final days of fall and I hope your fire situation has subsided. Many smiles ~ Suzanne.

DeleteFall is the perfect season to visit cemeteries, since November has several days set aside for remembrance and gratitude. Fall has finally arrived in North GA, with a long-delayed riot of color, crisp days and needed rain. Have a wonderful week.
