Saturday Sparks Link Party 626

Welcome to Saturday Sparks 626!

Starting off todays party with some sad news!

You may recall that I shared about our mother and child porcupine last week.

Sadly, we pulled out of our driveway the other morning only to see the remains of the mother.

She must have been hit while crossing the road.

I have been watching for the little one, but to no avail.

Our window into the wild allows us to witness many of the miracles of nature, but on occasion it also shows us the harsh realities of life in the wild.

The best I can hope for is that the baby has gone elsewhere and is thriving on her own.

March on little one.

  1. Good morning and Happy Saturday, Suzanne. It is always sad to see wildlife on the road where they have been hit. We constantly see deer that don’t get across the road in time. It is very dangerous for not only the deer but to the passengers of a vehicle when they hit a deer or attempt to swerve to miss. I hope baby porcupine is ok. I love your window to the wild. We have that window in common. Thanks for hosting and wishing you a beautiful weekend, my friend!

    1. Yes, it is sad Pam! This area is a summer destination for many people and the traffic that brings does not pair well with the wildlife. All I can do is hope for the best for them and that is what I will continue to do. May your week be filled with sunshine, my friend ~ Suzanne.

  2. Suzanne, I'm so sorry to hear about Mother porcupine, and also feel for baby porcupine. I hope she is out there thriving and had already learned what she needed to know. I hope you see her again - please give us an update if you do. I love the things you share about the wildlife in your yard. Thanks so much also for hosting the link party each week. - Patty
