Welcome to Saturday Sparks 718!
Starting off today's party with this little one!
This lovely Eastern Painted Turtle was making her way up our driveway the other day.
DH moved her onto the field where she was heading to lay eggs.
This photo spoke to me for another reason, though.
DH's rough and calloused hands stood out for me.
Hard work is and always has been a part of his DNA.
There isn't a day that goes by that a rake, a hammer or a piece of equipment hasn't been used by these hands.
For this, I am thankful.

Suzanne, your husband’s rough and calloused hands remind me of the hands of my husband. Even though he retired, he hasn't retired from all the work on our land and garden. Thank you for hosting and happy weekend my friend!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Pam! The hands of a working man speak volumes for their character and this is not lost on either of us. Wishing you a lovely week, my friend ~ Suzanne.
DeleteWhat an absolute cute little turtle!

ReplyDeleteThanks, Amy! The turtle was a sweet surprise and I've always had a thing for DH's hands. All my best ~ Suzanne.
DeleteWe probably work harder now retired than ever before. I worked an office/admin position and my hubby was a commercial driver. I have always respected calloused hands, they speak to integrity. It must be turtle season, we had a box turtle make it's way across our yard a couple of days ago.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Melynda! Staying busy while retired is a good thing. Glad to know you know you share my thoughts about calloused hands and yes, it is turtle season (at least here in NH). We have to be on the lookout driving around, as they seem to be everywhere. Have a great week ~ Suzanne.
