Sweetest Things Sampler Quilt Along

In my world, winter is the season of creativity. Cold, brisk air tends to keep me inside more and with that the 'maker' in me comes out in full force.

I have joined a few quilt alongs this year and am having so much fun.

This block of the month is called the Sweetest Things Sampler from Dawn at Honeybee Cloths and Michelle at Creative Blonde.

Perhaps, you may want to join too? Please visit their blogs for all the details on the quilt along.

I have completed the first step of the quilt - piecing these 13 Irish Chain blocks, using fabrics from my stash to achieve a scrappy look.

The first sampler block instructions are coming in February.

I think this is going to be a fun little project.

Patches of Blue Quilt Along

I recently joined the Patches of Blue Quilt Along at Laundry Basket Quilts.

Edyta Sitar is the author of the book Patches of Blue and the creator of this fun quilt along. The book has some beautiful quilts and I plan on making several of them!

She publishes a blog post on the 15th of each month with details for a new section of the quilt. You also need the book for further instructions.

This is my first completed block called 'Frost' using fabrics from my stash.

The sampler is really lovely and I look forward to working on it throughout the year.

Have you ever joined a quilt along?

It's so inspiring to see the different fabric combinations and unique details that people come up with for their version of the same pattern.

Saturday Sparks Link Party 255

Welcome to Saturday Sparks 255!

There are two things I know for sure.

The first is that people sharing their creativity is a beautiful thing.

And the second is that people finding inspiration in the creativity of others is even more beautiful.

"Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier. Be the living expression of God's kindness: kindness in your face, kindness in your eyes, kindness in your smile."

~Mother Teresa
