Saturday Sparks Link Party 625

Welcome to Saturday Sparks 625!

Starting off todays party with an unexpected guest!

As we settled into the dusk of another day, DH spotted this prickly pair out back.

Apparently, our resident porcupine had now added 'mother' to her resume.

I grabbed my camera and headed outside as they veered off in opposite directions.

Mama bolted for the closest tree while her porcupette made a beeline in my direction!

She waddled right up to my feet, only to turn at the last minute and head into the woods.

I've read that they don't have the best eyesight, so perhaps she mistook me for her mother.

Whatever the reason, this sweet encounter had me grinning like a cheshire cat.

  2. What a cute animal this is :) I've never seen it as we don't have them here, but I read they are strictly nocturnal animals? Anyway, thank you again for hosting, I love to come back here and check all the good stuff posted. And wishing you a sunny weekend.

    1. Happy to host, Debra! I just stood in awe as it ran up to me. I'm thinking the mother would have been none too pleased with me if I had placed a hand on her baby. Enjoy your week ~ Suzanne.
