Simple Christmas Touches for 2017

There is beauty in simplicity.

Keeping that in mind, I placed some simple Christmas touches around our home.

My first preference is to use things I have on hand and move them around to create different looks.

Plants and greenery are an easy way to bring a bit of nature indoors and freshen the space.

Simple objects sparingly placed on the shelves lend to my minimalist side.

I am very careful to only purchase things that I really love and that will stand the test of time - such as this little cloche.

Some epsom salt (to mimic snow) and a couple of bottle trees were placed inside the dome to create a sweet Christmas vignette.

Deer have always held a special place in my heart.

We had five of them in our front field the other night - such gentle creatures.

Our days of late have been quite cold, so we are singing the praises for our pellet stove.

Adding texture to a space also creates warmth, so this stocking was meant to be.

Gold jingle bells were tied onto string and hung haphazardly above the pantry door for a bit of whimsy.

How do you decorate your home for Christmas.....Do you go all out or do you favor a 'less is more' approach?

My decor tastes have changed over the years (and may change again). At this point in my life, it is a simple and natural look that calls to me.

  1. So pretty! I like seeing all the different approaches to Christmas decorating and while I am more of a "more is more" type person, I love the simplicity and beauty of your decor. Wishing you a very Merry Christmas!

  2. I love seeing what you did. I love the concept of Christmas but end up so busy this time of year (we have manditory overtime until January-8 hour over each week) that I'm lucky to get the tree up and lights on. I so appreciate the tranquility of your Christmas decorating. So nice and peaceful. It's beautiful!
