Minimalist Christmas Touches for 2019

Our days of late have been quite busy. Decking the halls wasn't really a priority, but a few simple touches were in order.

Truth be told, busy or not I still would have kept things at a minimum.

In my mind, minimalist Christmas decor can be every bit as joyful as an over-the-top approach. It's just on a quieter scale.

I started by giving some love to the mantel in the way of a pine forest.

Snow capped trees are a familiar sight here in New Hampshire and I wanted to emulate their beauty in this picture I painted.

As in nature, our tree is bare save for a strand of lights to give it a Christmas glow.

The tree theme continued onto our wall unit.

Objects are placed sparingly, but each and every piece is something that sings to me.

The living room pellet stove keeps us nice and warm, but my plants don't fare so well with the dry heat. Lucky for me, faux greenery has come a long way!

Another 'less is more' shelfie.

I like to start with bare shelves and slowly add things until I am content with the overall arrangement.

I always find myself removing things and in the end 'less' always feels better to me. Not to say this is right or wrong, it is just my own unique style.
