Saturday Sparks Link Party 441

Welcome to Saturday Sparks 441!

Starting off today's party with a rusty reminder of days gone by!

This iron wheeled tractor was most likely a work horse back in the day.

Retirement was long overdue.

Today it rests along side our driveway overlooking the pond below.

A quiet reminder of a time not so long ago and appreciated by all who pass by.

~Mark Twain

Now, let's get this party started.

First up, the Fabulous Features from Saturday Sparks 440.

Saturday Sparks Link Party 440

Welcome to Saturday Sparks 440!

Starting off today's party with my take on a deconstructed spring roll!

This dish comes together so easily that I find myself having it quite often.

On this day, I had stir fried cabbage (with purple onion, edamame and a splash of tamari), crispy tofu, white rice, avocado and a spicy peanut dipping sauce.

The crispy tofu was seasoned with tamari, black pepper, smoked paprika, onion powder and nutritional yeast.

Using pre-shredded cabbage and pre-baked crispy tofu helps to make this a very quick and easy meal.

Now, let's get this party started.

First up, the Fabulous Features from Saturday Sparks 439.

DIY Vintage Cupola

This sweet cupola is darling hubby's latest creation made with a variety of recycled materials.

The finished cupola stands about 8' tall and was built from weathered barn board and vintage shutters. The roof was crafted from rusted corrugated metal and the rustic weathervane was hand forged with iron from his metal pile.

The stone base was built with rocks gathered from around our property. The completed structure was then carefully placed on the stone foundation with the help of hubby's tractor.

And just as when he made 'Our New-Old Outbuilding with a Hidden Secret', this cupola serves as a disguise for a modern amenity.

The pedestal for our underground cable wires is hidden behind the hinged shutter.

Two different builds reflecting the past while camouflaging today's necessities.
