Saturday Sparks Link Party 512

Welcome to Saturday Sparks 512!

Starting off today's party with a late night visitor!

This grainy photo from the other night is from one of our house cameras.

This hungry bear wandered all around our house - a bit too close for comfort.

He managed to fill his stomach with our seed filled bird feeder.

It was our own fault, as we hadn't taken it down yet.

Needless to say, it was a lesson learned.

"The best way of being kind to bears is not to be very close to them."

~ Margaret Atwood

Now, let's get this party started.

  1. Thank you for choosing my earrings!
And about the bear: in our country we don't have bears. The biggest animal I could run upon to where I live is a fox, but I never saw one. I would be very scared to see a bear around the house, although I also would find it a bit cool....

    1. Happy to have featured your lovely earrings, Moois van mie! We see bears here on occasion. A few years back, while out walking I had a close encounter with a Mama bear and her cub. I reverted back to the treadmill after that. 😀 We still enjoy seeing them from a distance. They are a majestic creature. Have a wonderful week, Suzanne.

  2. Seeing the bear is very cool, but a little scary! Hopefully he moves on & searches for food elsewhere. Our camera catches coyotes & the occasional bobcat. Bears have been known to wander down from the north Georgia mountains, but I've never seen one. They are usually quickly caught & taken back to their natural habitat.
Thanks you so much for hosting the party. Have a great weekend.

    1. Yes, Virginia the bear didn't have any problems with coming right next to our house. As I said, we have no one to blame but ourselves for not taking in the bird feeder. Bear's are pretty common in this area, so we have learned to live with them - after all, they were here first. Happy Spring, Suzanne.

  3. Suzanne, that bear is frightening. There are bear sightings near us, but none have shown up on our trail cameras. Thank you for hosting and wishing you a beautiful weekend, my friend!

    1. We normally love seeing the bear's, Pam - just not quite so up close and personal! 😊 This happened a few nights ago and we haven't seen any sign of him since, so we are assuming he has found greener pastures elsewhere. Spring blessings, Suzanne.

  4. Hi Suzanne. Nothing to linkup today, just visiting links. Lots of creative people linking up at parties these days. Have you or your readers ever thought about creative writing? We’d love to have you all linkup at our short story prompt party. It’s fun and helps exercise our brains! Don't worry about a lot of editing. Use the first sentence prompt and just start typing, see what you come up with!

    1. I've missed you, Marie - glad to see you back! We love seeing the bears, just not quite that close. This spring has been especially busy with the wildlife here and we are enjoying every minute of it. Many smiles, Suzanne.

    1. Yes, it was a bit too close MaryJo but all is good. There is an amazing amount of wildlife wandering in the night and if it weren't for our camera's, we would have no idea. Have a great week, Suzanne.

  8. It looks a little scary to have a bear prowling around your yard at night. Hope he finds food out in the forest, away from your house. Thanks for hosting the link-up!

    1. It was a bit concerning, Carol but as I said it was our fault for not taking in the bird feeder. I consider it a valuable lesson learned. This happened a few nights ago and we haven't seen him since, so I assume he has moved elsewhere. Have a wonderful week, Suzanne.
