2025 Minimalist Christmas Village Decor

I went with a 'Christmas Village' theme this year.

I've collected a variety of ceramic houses over the years and the time had come to make use of them.

Per my usual MO,  I used a 'less is more' approach.

I wanted the mantel to have the feel of a wintry village in the Swiss Alps.

I thought the staggered heights of the buildings and the bottle brush trees helped to give that illusion.

The village theme continued onto the shelves.

And finally, a problem solved.  My little photo bombing Piper and her mischievous sister Penny would have had a field day with an ornament filled tree, so I opted for a large twig basket filled with lighted trees, set on the bay window. Turns out, I like this idea just as much (if not more so) than a traditional tree.

Wishing everyone a Very Merry Christmas!

  4. Suzanne, I love your minimalistic approach. The village collection you've garnered is very nice, and your entire decor can be used all winter, no rush to dismantle. I had a few ceramic houses that I used around my nativity on different levels, making it appear the manger scene was in a valley among them. Looking outside your window, your village creates a seamless look.

I see now how I missed this post, as our family celebrates on Christmas Eve, amd then I host breakfast on Christmas Day. So I know I was pooped!

    1. Thanks, Rita! I kept my village decor up until New Years day when I switched it out, but I do think it could have worked for winter as well. The OCD in me won that battle! Things should settle down for you now that the holidays are behind us. Have a lovely week, my friend ~ Suzanne.
