I am guilty of not posting for some time. This time of year is very busy for us. The school year is coming to an end and the garden has to be planted, etc...,. I finally got around to finish piecing this wallhanging. It is a group project from a yahoo group I belong to. The center applique is 20" square and is called "Basket of Flowers'. It was designed by Rebecca Hoffman. I added the flying geese borders.
I participated in the 'Springtime Shop Around' and was the lucky winner of the above prize from the 'Quilted Acorn'! The lovely sewing machine caddy was chock full of all kinds of yummy quilting items. The shop hop itself was fun (even without winning the prize) as it gave me an excuse to check out some new shops that I had been wanting to go to. Be sure to give your local shop hops a spin.
That's a lovely wallhanging. I love the dark background and the rich colors in the applique.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on winning the prize. Lots of very cool stuff!
The Basket of Flowers is a very good piece. I am a big fan of prim style!
ReplyDeleteGood to hear from you, Suzanne. Your wallhanging is beautiful as are the colors.
ReplyDeleteI know the gals from the Quilted Acorn from my decorative painting days. We used to bump into each other at trade shows. Cynthia Erikson's primitive style is wonderful. Now that I'm retired, I'd love to visit their shop...along with several others in the 'area'.
Great prize! Love Basket of Flowers and the flying geese border frames it nicely.
ReplyDeleteYour wallhanging is stunning. Love those fabrics.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous prize. You sure did make out.Great stuff.
I love all the fabrics you choose. Do you recall the name or maker of the fabric used in the Bunny Hill BOM basket for February? I love it and have not been able to find it. Jan
ReplyDeleteAnonymous - The selvage on that fabric reads 'Honeycomb Harvest by Kathy Schmitz LLC for Moda Pattern #5945' and I believe I bought it from 'Cottage Herbs Quilt Shop' in Berwick, Maine.
ReplyDeleteHope this helps - Suzanne.
I love your "Basket of Flowers" wallhanging! Adding the flying geese border was a geat idea! It definitely accents the center well!
ReplyDeleteYou are a lucky winner indeed! Enjoy all your goodies.
