Saturday Sparks Link Party 398

 Welcome to Saturday Sparks 398!

Starting off today's party with a favorite breakfast.

Caramelized Pear Oatmeal at Pieced Pastimes

Some mornings, you just want something sweet.

This oatmeal fills that need in a healthy and delicious way.

Caramelized Pear Oatmeal

• 1/2 cup old fashioned oatmeal
• 1 1/2 cups shredded zucchini
• 1 cup water
• 1/2 banana, chopped
• 1 pear - I like bosc pears

Add zucchini and water to a pot and cook until zucchini softens. Add oatmeal and banana and cook to desired consistency. Slice up a pear and add to a heated fry pan with a touch of water. Cook until starting to brown and flip over. Sprinkle with cinnamon and cook until browned adding more water if necessary to keep from sticking. Remove from heat. Pour oatmeal in a bowl and add cooked pear slices. Drizzle with a tsp of pure maple syrup and a splash of almond milk. Optional toppings: chopped walnuts, cranberries and granola.

"Delicious autumn! My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns."

~ George Eliot
