I go to the farmers market most weekends in the summer and it seemed like the perfect excuse to make myself a new tote bag.

And, so I did.

Sewing the Base of the Rope Market Tote Bag at Pieced Pastimes

In contrast to the round rope bowl and coaster, I started this bag with a long oval shape and then continued sewing around to create the base of the bag.

Once I was satisfied with the size of the bottom, I started shaping the sides by holding the base up against the sides of my machine as I continued to sew. In no time, I had myself a completed bag.

  2. That is so beautiful! I love your work.
Years ago I made a few things like that but got busy and
forgot how much I enjoyed it. Keep up the good work.

    1. Thanks so much, Dolly! I am well aware of life getting busy. I have to remind myself to stop and take the time to create once in a while. It does me a world of good. Many smiles, Suzanne.
