Welcome to Saturday Sparks 513!
Starting off today's party with this bristly little guy!
We have two porcupines that wander about our property all the time.
One is quite large and this is the smaller of the pair.
In recent days, a pair of black labs got loose from just down the road.
Luckily, they were found after being missing for a couple of days.
Unfortunately, they were both found with their faces covered in quills.
I suspect our prickly pair may have been involved.
They are gentle creatures but are more than ready if trouble finds them.
First up, the Fabulous Features from Saturday Sparks 512.

Suzanne, porcupines are one animal that aren’t residing here, yet (lol)! It wasn’t that long ago when armadillos didn’t live here, either. Unfortunately, we have been inundated by them. Thanks so much for the wonderful party and featuring my Simple + Southern Sunday! Happy Weekend dear one!
ReplyDeleteThat's so interesting about the armadillos, Pam! They say we don't have mountain lions here in NH, but there seems to be an awful lot of sitings of them. Urban development changes everything. Happy to have featured you. Wishing you a beautiful week, Suzanne.
DeleteOh my goodness those poor labs! And that's the SMALLER of the two porcupines?! Thankful we don't have porcupines or armadillos...yet. Just beavers, coyotes and bears that are the most nuisance (I've only encountered beaver destruction personally to nymph trees on our riverbank). Happy Mother's Day Suzanne!
ReplyDeleteYes, Rita - those poor labs! I am thinking they learned a hard lesson. Our beavers were giving us a run for our money, as they had wandered into the fields and took down some of our aspens and poplars. We ended up wrapping the trees in wire and it seems to have cured the problem. 🤞 Wishing you a Very Happy Mother's Day as well - Suzanne.
