Saturday Sparks Link Party 549

Welcome to Saturday Sparks 549!

Starting off today's party with a cautionary tale!

Last week, I shared about the sudden disappearance of our wild turkey friends, our concern for them and finally our happy reunion.

Fast forward to this week and there is a new twist to the story.

The turkeys have not only come back, but it seems they have come back in droves.

We normally see a group of 8 and somedays an additional 2 or 3 will wander into the mix.

This past week, we have seen their numbers increase each and every day.

This morning, I counted 31 of them!

For some, this would be considered a 'careful what you wish for' moment.

For us, it is simply a blessing.

No matter the reason, we will enjoy their visits for as long as they will allow us.

"No matter how few possessions you own or how little money you have, loving wildlife and nature will make you rich beyond measure."

~ Paul Oxton

  3. We lived in town many years ago & had turkeys visit our yard. I loved seeing them. We moved to the country 17 years ago & we rarely see any. We do, however, have a lot of coyotes, fox, & a bobcat, so that may be why, sadly. I'd rather have the turkeys! We also get visits from the peacocks down the road.
Thank you for hosting the party. Have a great weekend.

    1. That is too bad, Virginia. We have plenty of coyotes, fox and bobcats here as well but somehow the turkey population is still thriving. Perhaps, they will rebound and start coming back. Enjoy your peacocks in the meantime. Happy Winter ~ Suzanne.

  6. Thanks for hosting, Suzanne. Interesting tale of the turkeys, we have had upwards of 50 at one time in our pasture. They particularly love rainy days for visiting us. Have a wonderful week!

    1. How fun that you had so many of them visiting you, Pam! I get a kick out of watching them. They have such a peculiar way about them and even more so when they are gathered in large groups. Winter Blessings ~ Suzanne.
