Saturday Sparks Link Party 705

Welcome to Saturday Sparks 705!

Starting off today's party with a risky move!

I held off jumping into the sourdough trend for good reason.

The temptation of this oh-so delicious crusty bread can be hard to resist.

A long, cold, snowy winter broke me and yes, I caved and am now in my sourdough era.

Give me strength.

  5. Thanks for another fun party Suzanne. I have resisted the sourdough craze as well. I live in the heart of sourdough and I know there's no going back once you start. I'm glad you enjoyed my heart topiary vignette and I appreciate the feature. Happy Valentine's Day! XO- MaryJo

  6. Thank you so much for featuring my upcycled paper, Suzanne. My husband is the bread-maker in our house. I may need to encourage him to try some sourdough!

  8. "Give me strength" - that made me laugh 😂🤣

Sourdough is pretty easy once the starter is ready.

You can do this! Have a funtastic week ahead 👨‍🍳

    1. Thanks, Val & Holland! The starter is definitely the hardest part. Well, that and the willpower to not eat myself into a bread coma. 😁 Have a great week ~ Suzanne.

  9. Suzanne, thank you for the feature! And thank you for the added features. Oh my, Ann's upcycled paper guide is wonderful (pinned). I can't to hear all the ways you start enjoying your sourdough. I happen to have a great source (my plumber's wife!) who started a small business of this, and I find her at our Capitol Market. Her jalapeno and cheddar bread and pretzels are to die for! Happy Valentine's week to you.

    1. Your tablescape looks so romantic, Rita! I agree that Ann's upcycled paper tutorial is a keeper, for sure. How nice to have the bread baker in your market. Sounds like she's got a fan in you. Happy

  10. How spooky, I mentioned my sour dough in the preamble to my Handmade Monday link up this week too! I agree, the biggest problem with it is it tastes too good!

  11. Suzanne, my beloved mother kept us supplied with sourdough bread. After she passed away, I decided for the same reason you delayed, I was quite sure that I would eat too much! Thank you for hosting and wishing you a wonderful week, my friend!

    1. Thanks, Pam! Sourdough (or pretty much any home baked bread) really tests your willpower. I'm sure the aroma of freshly baked sourdough must bring back fond memories of your mother. Have a wonderful week, my friend ~ Suzanne.
