As promised, I am sharing darling hubby's latest project - a DIY Vintage Well House - dressed in full fall attire.
We have a drilled well here - with the standard pipe casing that sticks out of the ground a foot or so. It serves it's purpose but isn't the prettiest thing to look at.
Darling hubby knew it could be so much better. With a vision in mind, materials were gathered and the sawing and hammering began.
Rocks were gathered and used to build a stone foundation to support the new/old structure.
Weathered barn board, galvanized roofing and a knot filled log were used in the build along with a discarded wheel hub, an old rusty bucket and some worn rope.
Items that most would consider junk are placed back into service for a new unexpected journey.
'Live edge' boards were used for the top of the base, instilling a bit more character.
Suzanne, your husband took a utilitarian item and turned it into art! I especially love the rock base and live edge wood. What a great view!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Rita! He is a pretty clever guy. There's always something brewing in his head, so the projects are never-ending. Sending you all the colors of fall ~ Suzanne.
DeleteSuzanne, your husband did a wonderful job. I do love the rock base and it is a beauty welcoming you to your secret garden. It might be amazing if our husbands got together on a project. Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Pam! He never ceases to surprise me with the different things he comes up with. And yes, your husband and mine seem to have a lot in common and it would be so fun to see what they would create if they were to combine forces. Many smiles ~ Suzanne.
